Narendra Modi recently launched several infrastructure projects in Gujarat which is poll bound. He vowed that he will continue to take important decisions regarding other reforms even after the attack of opposition on GST as well as demonetisation.
Modi reached out to the traders and assured them by saying that the Income Tax Department will not consider their past records if they register themselves under the new tax regime and join the formal economy. Modi also said that several reforms along with hard decisions were made to get the economy of the country back on track in the right direction. He added that despite the claims of the opposition, many economists have unanimously accepted the fact that the fundamentals of the country’s economy at the moment are getting stronger.
Modi also said that if the figures are taken into consideration, then natural gas, electricity and coal production has witnessed a huge increase. Various foreign investors have started making record investments in our country and the country’s foreign exchange reserves have reached a sum of 40,000 crore dollars from 30,000 crore dollars.
During his one day visit to Gujarat, Modi inaugurated a roll off roll on ferry service which is worth 650 crores. This ferry is expected to reduce the travelling time between south Gujarat and Sauarashtra by nearly 6 hours. This ferry service is going to cut the distance between Saurashta and Dahej from 360 km to 31 km only. PM Modi said that this is a landmark project not only for India, but also for South East Asia.
This project is likely to increase economic and social development in this area and also increase the number of job opportunities for the residents. Modi added that this ferry service is going to save a lot of time as well as fuel and therefore this facility will not get restricted to one route only. A similar facility is likely to get set up for Daman and Diu and Hazira also.
